American Journal of Managed Care – Achieving health equity is a key focus for healthcare reform, and the focus of CMS’s new Health Equity Index (HEI) measure. The Quintuple Aim of Healthcare adds “health equity” as its fifth pillar, addressing the critical need to improve health outcomes throughout the entire U.S. population, despite socioeconomic circumstances.  

Addressing SDOH barriers to improve medication adherence helps health plans improve health outcomes and take action on health equity. Implementing the right tools and techniques that apply data-driven, evidence-based, culturally sensitive strategies help plans meet the unique needs of at-risk members.
